Our History
The Kuruva traces its roots back to ancient times, nestled within the lush forests of the Western Ghats in southern India. Believed to be one of the indigenous tribes of the region, the Kuruva have a rich and storied history shaped by their deep connection to nature and their distinctive cultural practices.
For centuries, the Kuruva have lived in harmony with the forests, relying on their traditional knowledge of the land for sustenance and survival. Their way of life revolves around hunting, gathering, and shifting cultivation, reflecting a deep respect for the natural world and its rhythms.
Despite facing numerous challenges over the years, including encroachment on their ancestral lands and changes in government policies, the kuruva have persevered, holding steadfast to their cultural identity and heritage. Today, they continue to uphold their age-old traditions while also embracing aspects of modern life.
